The Power Quality is defined as the degree to which the power supply approaches the ideal case of stable, uninterrupted, zero distortion and disturbance free supply. Power quality concerns that can be referenced include: voltage and current unbalance tolerance, over and under voltage tolerance, electrical starting characteristics, and insulation values
A grid is usually a commercial electric power distribution system that takes electricity from a generator.
A load is considered non-linear if its impedance changes with the applied voltage. The changing impedance means that the current drawn by the non-linear load will not be sinusoidal even when it is connected to a sinusoidal voltage.
